Moate Lodge Georgian Farmhouse
Moate Lodge is a Fáilte Ireland approved 250 year old Georgian farmhouse near Athy in the Kildare countryside.

Meet Raymond and Mary Pelin at their tillage and beef farm in their Georgian farmhouse which was originally built c.1740 as a hunting lodge by the Duke of Leinster on Kilkea Castle Demesne. You'll hear their story and enjoy traditional farmhouse scones, freshly baked in Mary's AGA range.

Castlefarm & Farm Shop
Peter and Jenny are the fourth generation of Young family at Castlefarm & Farm Shop. They think it is important for people to understand where their food really comes from. Castlefarm took its name from the top field (The Castle field) in which a castle once stood.

Castlefarm Cheese is Kildare’s first farmhouse cheese. Their Natural and Shamrock cheeses are made with organic milk from the Castlefarm dairy herd. Castlefarm cheeses are easy to recognise as they are dressed in distinctive green wax.

Peter and Jenny Young, fourth generation custodians of a 170-acre organic farm will guide you through the food story of Castlefarm & Farm Shop with a farmhouse cheese tasting session.

Riverboat Trip with Athy Boat Tours
Departing from the jetty in Athy Town on board Athy Boat Tours new riverbarge, “Freedom on the Water”.

Enjoy a relaxing two and a half hour boat trip on the River Barrow travelling through locks, under bridges and "lifting bridges" and passing many historical sites which are not accessible by road.

While on board you will indulge in Bradbury's family craft bakery famous "fancies" and artisan breads for a magical floating afternoon tea.
